The word ology has mysterious meaning to many people, it can be used to modify words. Nearly any word can be modified the word ology and it can be used creatively to make words sound different that are being modified by it.
Some words already have their own word that means the study of like etimology or chemistry which wouldn't be chemology. Most words like Neurology seem to have something to do with the brain, the neurol system, or an auxilary system that affects brain function, perception, or context.
Ecology for example, is a word that does not quite mean the study of economics, but it also does not necessarily mean the study of the Earth environment which is Natural Science. It seems to mean the perception of economics on the human brain. Left undefined in most texts. It has to mean something.
Ology itself is likely an approximation. Of logical pathways makes more sense. The study of logical pathways that lead to comprehension of a topic like psych, bio, neuro, or ecol. Ology.
Who defines the rules for approving an ology?
Would any of these terms be correct, and who would decide that if the concept is communicated correctly?
Is there a word for the study of human thought patterns? Would that be neurology or is that something different, studying mostly physical brain structures, and neuron interactions?
How do people get a job as an ologist? Is that an actual job? What is the job application like?
