Dating single people has a lot of of considerations in modern context. In the recent past, dating feel into one of two categories for most people. Either looking for a long term relationship or hooking up. There is a lot more to dating today, and for a lot of people dating does not have to involve sexual intimacy. A lot of people go on dates to feel human connections and is different than socialization because that is often a group activity like a convention, seminar, theatrical events, or concerts.
Most people don't view intimacy as specifically, a significant other activity. People can be intimate with friends, family members and co-workers without involving any sex. It signifies a closeness and a connection to one another that used to be identified as bonding. However, bonding often occurs during the first few encounters, its an attraction and interest in another person, and an agreement to explore those contexts. Intimacy happens over longer periods of time, it indicates a close connection identified by being able to finish each others sentences or knowing what the other person is thinking. This happens in large groups now that are genetically dissimilar but the group members share a lot in common.
Regardless of group intimacy levels, there is a lot of room for one on one or small group interactions. A lot of the words can seem confusing because people are developing thought concepts and try to standardize their terminology so that communications are consistent. For some people an intimacy group is small group interactions of 3-5 people and for others an intimacy group is the overall area structure that makes up the people they identify with. With geographic areas of 10 to 50 million and a total of 8 billion people, an intimacy group of 50k to 60k people makes sense, but then they need a word for smaller groups.
These are things that single parents should be aware of, statistically many single people will be college educated, even if they didn't actually finish the program.
Many people are open to dating single parents. It doesn't bother them that a person is a parent, what concerns them is that the child or young adult needs attention to develop at a healthy pace. A context simulation that a single person might go through is parental guardianship, material necessities, and developmental activities their potential partner may need to be available for and whether they will be asked to participate or to minimize involvement.
People considering a relationship with a single parent often self select to complete a parenting or child development class. This is for various reasons like reducing anxiety, increasing confidence, being relationship ready, and knowing how to properly interact with a child, adolescence, or young adult.
Besides dating for long term or to have fun on the weekend. There are various things people consider when advertising that they are looking to start a relationship:
Not everyone looks for all of these things. One person may be mostly focused on gender identity and time schedules and a different person filters potential partners through social status and job role. On average, people focus on orientation, gender preferences, and time schedule. This is closely followed by short term and long term plans to see if there is a compatibility for either type of relationship.
